NEXT GEN - CREATIVE LITTLE NATIVES

NEXT GEN - CREATIVE LITTLE NATIVES

Creative Little Natives was created by sisters Rosemary, Kaylee and Kathleen — three proud Wakka Wakka women from Cherbourg, now living on Yuggera Country.

The sisters share a love of creativity, culture and community, and have had opportunities to learn and share culture alongside local Yuggera Elders Uncle Valentine Brown and Aunty Rhonda Collard. Through this connection, they have continued learning across painting, dancing, singing and creating cultural pieces, while strengthening their own connection to culture.

Creative Little Natives brings the sisters’ different creative interests together. Rosemary creates handmade baby and children’s accessories, including headbands, ties, scrunchies, skirts and dresses. Together, the sisters have also created handmade earrings, bracelets, mini natural perfumes and painted canvases.

Kaylee and Kathleen bring their love of baking to the mix, creating homemade cookies and cupcakes to sell alongside their sisters’ handmade pieces.

At the GATHAA Next Gen Market & Youth Showcase, Creative Little Natives gives the sisters an opportunity to bring what they’ve been making together into a market setting — meeting customers, sharing their creativity and building experience along the way.

For Rosemary, Kaylee and Kathleen, Creative Little Natives is a space to keep creating, learning, sharing and growing together, while sharing a little of who they are and what they love with community.
