Printing with Country
Gel Plate Printing with Lexie Abel
Explore printmaking through the lens of Country.
Using plants and materials gathered from Country, participants will be guided through the printmaking technique of gel plate printing. Learn printing language like “ghost print,” “registration” and “brayer” while discovering local plants through an artist’s eye.
You’ll create multiple prints on paper and design your own cotton tote bag to take home.
Facilitated by Lexie Abel, a Wiradjuri descendant living on Jinibara Country, this workshop blends creativity, learning and connection. With a background in education, Lexie is passionate about accessibility and inclusivity — ensuring creativity is playful, welcoming and for everyone.
