Olivia “Liv” is a proud young Jagera woman living on Gubbi Gubbi Country. At 16 years old, she is developing her own creative voice as a young First Nations artist and is an active part of the GATHAA community.
Having been mentored by several strong First Nations women artists, Liv has developed her skills across painting, sketching and clay sculpture, exploring different techniques and finding her own way of expressing culture, identity and creativity through art.
A major milestone in Liv’s creative journey came when she was invited to take part in her first collaborative exhibition as part of Horizon Festival’s BlakOut. Liv showcased a collection of ocean-inspired artworks, including an installation piece — an experience that became a real highlight in her journey as a young artist.
Liv has also attended exhibitions and open galleries across the Sunshine Coast and is now stepping forward to showcase and sell her own creations through GATHAA Markets. She is building her experience beyond creating her own work, developing skills in creative facilitation and sharing art activities with children and community.
Through GATHAA Next Gen, Liv is continuing to grow her practice, share her work and explore where her creativity can take her — while becoming part of a new generation of young First Nations artists creating their own opportunities.
